This is a live video of Rev Ezra recording our song "Edge of a Knife" at Electric Wilburland Studios in Newfield, NY. On this song, and our entire upcoming album, Will Russell (the owner and producer at Electric Wilburland) recorded us using a single microphone set up intentionally between us so that it could capture the vocals, guitar, and fiddle. We used no overdubs and no pitch correction. This video puts you in the studio with us - what you see and hear is exactly what went into the album. Our friend Will Prisloe captured all of this footage and created this video. We're so happy with the narrative that he put together through the song. This is a live video of Rev Ezra and Hannah Stater recording a song that we co-wrote called "Make Your Space" live at Electric Wilburland Studios in Newfield, NY. Hannah and I (I'm Josh, the singer of Rev Ezra) went to high school together in Western PA. We used to jam during our music theory class, study halls, or other classes we didn't want to go to. We also played music at the same church most Sundays growing up. While we did all of this music together, we had never written a song. Fast forward 8 years after high school, Hannah had moved to Ft. Myers, FL, and I had moved to Ithaca, NY, but we stayed in touch. We made a plan for me to fly down and visit Hannah in FL and try co-writing a song. I was there for two days, and this is what we came up with. We're incredibly proud of it. We recorded this song the way the rest of the upcoming Rev Ezra album was recorded - one microphone recording acoustic instruments and vocals. There's no pitch correction or overdubs in this recording. My good friend and native Ithacan, William Prisloe, made this video, and all the other Rev Ezra videos in Electric Wilburland Studios. You know those stories that you tell people about, and you realize while telling it that it seems too good to be true? That was our @RedAntsPantsMusicFestival story from this summer. Major shout out to @Duranosaur for making it out to the festival, getting all this great footage, putting together this video, and of course, having us out at his digsite in the badlands of SD. We hatched this idea for a trio with phase 1 being this festival and phase 2 being dinosaur bone exploration, and we made it happen. This year at Red Ants, we played a set to a great crowd full of enthusiastic music fans, jammed every night until the wee hours of the morning, swam in the ice cold reservoir, toured the festival grounds on Sunday night while pulled by Outlaw Carriage, played a surprise secret set, and met amazing people every step of the way. Then after the festical, we dug for (and found!) triceratops fossils with Harry at his digsite. We even watched Jurassic Park back at camp after our first day of work. Thank you again to all my friends who trusted Harry and me when we pitched this insane idea for a trip. Can’t wait for our next excursion into the American West.
