Bio

Rev Ezra is an acoustic folk-rock band from Ithaca, NY, composed of singer/guitarist/primary songwriter Josh Chamberlain and fiddler/guitarist/co-songwriter Sam Schmidt. The group blends poignant storytelling with danceable rhythms and old-time influenced fiddling. Their lyrics, rooted in the storytelling of folk and Americana, tackle themes like personal growth, complex family dynamics and generational trauma, the nuances of love, and life’s delicate balance between adventure and responsibility. Rev Ezra writes fearlessly to the heart of the human experience with an eye toward honesty, humility, and a genuine mission to help others feel understood while being understood themselves. Some similar artists are the Avett Brothers, John Moreland, and Watchhouse. From intimate living room settings to large festival stages, Rev Ezra provides the space for listeners to relate to heartfelt lyrics and move to catchy hooks and rhythms.
